Dear Professor Aldrich,

We spoke briefly at the conference Unwriting the Book, where I expressed interest in a new translation of Bede’s On Time that you’ve been working on. It all sounds exceptionally exciting and I look forward to reading that early draft you promised me. With all the unpleasantness down south about the prime minister’s necromantic sublimation, it is nice to read something homegrown, if only as a distraction.
